Vibe Kanban
Kanban board for planning tasks and running coding agents in isolated workspaces, each with its own branch, terminal and dev server, plus diff review. Vendor announced sunset in April 2026; open-source version continues.
Vibe Kanban review
Vibe Kanban is a kanban board that runs coding agents in isolated workspaces, each with its own branch. It is installed with npx and licensed Apache-2.0. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.
Who it is for
Developers who want a task board over several agent CLIs with per-task branches, and who accept a project whose vendor has stopped running it.
What stands out
Each workspace gets its own branch, a terminal and a dev server. The site says the tool automates creating git worktrees and running setup scripts. You review diffs, leave inline comments for the agent and open pull requests from the app.
The README lists ten supported agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Amp, Cursor and OpenCode. The docs index also lists a Vibe Kanban MCP server page, a Remote Access page and a Docker Compose self-hosting guide.
The repository showed 28,491 stars on 29 October 2026 and is not archived. It had commits as recently as 28 October.
Price and licence
The pricing page still lists Free at $0, Pro at $30 per user per month and Enterprise as custom (seen 29 October 2026). A shutdown post dated 10 April 2026 says subscriptions were terminated. The code is under the unmodified Apache License 2.0.
Where it falls short
- The vendor says Vibe Kanban is sunsetting. The post said cloud features such as shared issues, projects and organisations would be removed after 30 days.
- The latest GitHub release is from 24 April 2026.
- The project continues as community-maintained open source, but we did not see the promised roadmap.
- The pages we read do not state supported operating systems.
- The pricing page and the shutdown post disagree about paid plans.
