nodeterm
Electron app that places terminals and coding agents as nodes on a pan/zoom canvas, with tmux-backed sessions, a kanban board of live sessions, git worktree groups, a browser Server Edition and an iOS companion.
nodeterm review
nodeterm is an Electron app that places terminals and coding agents as nodes on a pan and zoom canvas. Sessions are backed by tmux, and an iOS companion exists. It is source-available under BUSL-1.1 and has a paid Pro tier. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.
Who it is for
Developers who want a spatial canvas and kanban view over several agent sessions, with phone access.
What stands out
Each terminal or agent runs in its own persistent tmux session that survives app restarts. A project can also be shown as a kanban board whose cards are live sessions. Status badges show when an agent needs input.
Groups can be bound to a git worktree for one agent per branch, and projects can be opened over SSH. A Server Edition serves the canvas in a browser. The iOS app attaches to the same live sessions.
Desktop builds cover macOS and Linux, with Windows in beta. Desktop v0.4.5 was released on 24 October 2026, and the repository showed about 2,110 stars.
Where it falls short
- BUSL-1.1 is not an OSI open-source licence. It converts to MIT four years after each version is published.
- The Windows build is beta, with an unsigned installer, manual updates and no session continuity across restarts.
- The agent list differs between the README, homepage and docs.
- The release version is 0.x. We did not see desktop Pro pricing.
Price and licence
Seen 29 October 2026: the iOS app is free with Pro in-app purchases at $9.99 a month, $79.99 a year or $299 lifetime. Free accounts get 5 relay bridges per month. Pro removes that cap and adds Team Access.
Alternatives
For a free MIT-licensed worktree manager, see Orca. For a Mac terminal with agent attention signals, see cmux.
