Official site

Muxy review

Muxy is a terminal multiplexer built with Rust and libghostty for macOS, with an experimental Linux build and phone companion apps. The source is MIT-licensed. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.

Who it is for

Mac users who want a lightweight multiplexer with per-project worktrees, agent notifications and a phone companion.

What stands out

Each project gets its own tabs and split panes, and they persist after you close the window. The site says each branch can have its own tabs and terminals, with worktrees created in Muxy or opened from existing ones. SSH projects appear in the same sidebar as local ones.

Built-in detection tracks Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and more. It sends a notification when an agent needs input or finishes.

Companion apps for iOS and Android connect to your own Muxy server over a local network or VPN. The App Store listing says there are no accounts, cloud or telemetry.

The latest release was v2.2.0 on 17 October 2026. The repository showed 2,323 stars on 29 October 2026.

Price and licence

The LICENSE file is MIT. The homepage states no price for the desktop app. The iOS companion costs $2.99 on the App Store (seen 29 October 2026). We did not check the Android price.

Where it falls short

Alternatives

cmux is another macOS terminal that signals which agent needs attention. Orca adds automatic worktree-per-task runs.
