Agent workspace · Emanuele Di Pietro
Synara
Open-source desktop workspace that runs locally installed coding agents in per-task threads, with managed git worktrees, terminal, browser preview, diff review, handoff between providers, automations and scoped external MCP access.
Synara review
Synara is a free desktop workspace for coding agents installed on your own machine. It builds for macOS, Windows and Linux, and the code is MIT-licensed. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.
Who it is for
Developers who want one free app to run several local coding agents in separate git worktrees and review the diffs.
What stands out
Work is organised as projects and threads. Each task keeps its own session, terminal, browser preview, diff and delivery state. The README says tasks can run in a local checkout or in an isolated managed git worktree.
The README lists nine runtimes: Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity, Grok Build, Factory Droid, OpenCode, Pi and Devin CLI. The website adds Oh My Pi to its list. Synara uses the installs and logins already on the machine and sells no model plan.
Other features include split views, device previews, provider handoff, recurring automations, and Git actions with pull requests. An external MCP integration is documented, with pairing, project access and permission limits.
Native release targets are Windows x64, macOS Intel, macOS Apple Silicon and Linux x64. The latest GitHub release was v1.0.9 on 25 October 2026. The repository showed 2,151 stars on 29 October 2026.
Price and licence
The website calls Synara free (seen 29 October 2026). Source is under the MIT licence. The licence file names T3 Tools Inc. and Emanuele Di Pietro as copyright holders.
Where it falls short
- The README says it is early-stage software and that interface details are still changing.
- We found no phone control or mobile app in the pages we read.
- The website does not list operating systems or a version, so those details come from the README.
- The copyright line includes T3 Tools Inc., and the pages do not explain how the two projects relate.
- SSH and remote-server use were not described.
