Coding agent (CLI) · Xiaomi
MiMoCode
Xiaomi's terminal coding agent, a fork of OpenCode with persistent project memory, checkpoints, subagents and workflows. Runs with Xiaomi's MiMo models or other providers.
MiMoCode review
MiMoCode is Xiaomi's terminal coding agent, a fork of OpenCode with persistent project memory, checkpoints and subagents. The CLI is free and open source under the MIT licence. We read the vendor's pages and repository in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.
Who it is for
Developers who want an OpenCode-based agent with built-in memory and checkpoints, using MiMo models or their own provider. Terminal.app users must switch terminals.
What stands out
The README lists Xiaomi's MiMo-V2.6-Pro and MiMo-V2.6-Flash models. It also keeps OpenCode's provider support: catalogue providers by API key, ChatGPT Codex OAuth, Claude Code auth import, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Persistent memory and automatic checkpoints are aimed at long sessions. It has subagents, scripted multi-agent workflows, MCP and a headless `mimo run` mode. For remote work, the README says to run `mimo serve` on the host and attach through an SSH port forward. It has no native SSH client.
Price and licence
The CLI is free, and the repository LICENSE is plain MIT. Model cost comes from your choice of provider. Xiaomi offers pay-as-you-go API use and a monthly Token Plan. A June 2026 announcement lists Lite at 39 yuan (about $6), Standard 99 yuan ($16), Pro 329 yuan ($50) and Max 659 yuan ($100). Those prices may have changed.
Where it falls short
- Versions are 0.1.x, and the repository was created in June 2026.
- The README says the built-in macOS Terminal.app is not supported; use iTerm2 or the VS Code terminal. Voice and ASR features need a Xiaomi MiMo login.
- The statements on free use conflict. The product page says free to try without login. The integration docs say authorisation needs balance or a Token Plan.
- The README documents no command sandbox and no Ollama or LM Studio guide.
Alternatives
It descends from OpenCode, which is the upstream to compare. For more choices, see terminal coding agents or Qwen Code.
