HAPI
Runs official coding-agent CLIs on your machine and lets you control the sessions from a phone app, web/PWA or Telegram through a hub, with an encrypted relay or a self-hosted tunnel.
HAPI review
HAPI lets you control coding agent sessions that run on your own machine from a phone app, a web page or Telegram. It is licensed AGPL-3.0, and the native phone apps are paid. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.
Who it is for
People who run agent CLIs on a desktop or server and want to follow and approve those sessions away from the keyboard.
What stands out
You start a hub on the machine with `hapi hub --relay`, then start an agent through HAPI. Clients connect with a URL or QR code. The README says the relay uses WireGuard and TLS. You can instead self-host access through Cloudflare Tunnel or Tailscale.
The README lists ten agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, OpenCode, Kimi, Copilot and Antigravity. The web and PWA client is free. The native apps cover chat, approvals, session creation, files and push notifications.
GitHub release v0.31.3 of 27 October 2026 ships binaries for macOS, Linux and Windows. The repository showed 5,328 stars on 29 October 2026.
Price and licence
The CLI and web client are labelled free. The native iOS and Android apps are labelled paid. The US App Store listed the iOS app at $9.90 on 29 October 2026. The source is under the standard AGPL-3.0 text with no extra terms.
Where it falls short
- The native phone apps cost money, while the web client does not.
- AGPL-3.0 is a network copyleft licence, which matters if you modify and host it.
- We found no git worktree or MCP documentation on the pages we read.
- The version is 0.31.x, and the homepage only renders with JavaScript.
- The App Store seller is HongKong Infoturge Technologies Limited, not the GitHub owner. We did not verify the link.
