Agent of Empires review

Agent of Empires is a Rust terminal UI and web dashboard that runs each coding agent in its own tmux session, on macOS and Linux. It is free and MIT-licensed. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.

Who it is for

Terminal users who want several agent CLIs running in parallel on separate worktrees, with a phone browser view.

What stands out

Each agent lives in a tmux session, so it keeps running if you close the interface or lose an SSH connection. The README lists git worktrees, multi-repo workspaces and status detection that shows whether an agent is working, waiting or idle.

Agents can run in Docker, Podman or Apple Container sandboxes. The site names Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI and Mistral Vibe, and the repository description adds Pi.dev, Copilot CLI and Factory Droid.

The web dashboard has a terminal in the browser and a mobile-first view. Phone access uses HTTPS with QR pairing through Tailscale Funnel or Cloudflare Tunnel. There is also a CLI and an HTTP API.

The latest release was v1.21.0 on 21 October 2026. The repository showed 3,392 stars on 29 October 2026.

Price and licence

The site says free and open source under MIT. The README notes one file contains code derived from an Apache-2.0 project.

Where it falls short

Alternatives

Claude Squad is a similar terminal manager for agent sessions. Orca is a desktop app with worktrees and a mobile companion.
