Agent Deck review

Agent Deck is a terminal interface that lists all your coding-agent sessions on one screen and shows whether each is running, waiting or done. We read the vendor's site and GitHub pages in October 2026. We did not run an independent test.

Who it is for

Terminal users on macOS or Linux who run several different agent tools and want one status view with worktrees and MCP management.

What stands out

The README lists integrations for Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Codex, Copilot, Cursor and others, each with a stated level of support. Sessions can be grouped, searched, forked and archived.

New sessions can get their own git worktree, with setup and teardown scripts that need your approval before they run. Optional Docker sandboxes are available. An MCP manager attaches servers per session or globally. Remote decks run commands on another host through SSH key authentication, and a local web UI is started with agent-deck web.

For phone follow-up, an optional "conductor" session connects to Telegram, Slack, Discord or Mattermost bots, and ntfy topics can feed it. The code is MIT-licensed, and we read the licence file. Release v1.16.34 is dated 25 October 2026.

Where it falls short

Price

No price is listed. The code is MIT-licensed. It runs the agent tools and logins already on your machine, and the README notes that Claude Code plan limits assume ordinary individual use. Seen 28 October 2026.

Verdict

Choose it if you switch between several agent CLIs in a terminal on macOS or Linux and want worktrees and MCP in one place. Look elsewhere if you need a native Windows or graphical app.

Agent Deck features

✓ documented · – absent or not in its feature list · ? not verified

Agent Deck strengths

  • Supports many tools: Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Codex, Copilot, Cursor and others, with per-tool integration levels listed in the README
  • Per-session git worktrees with setup and teardown scripts, plus optional Docker sandboxes
  • MCP manager attaches MCP servers per session or globally; remote decks run commands on other hosts over SSH
  • Phone follow-up is possible through an optional conductor with Telegram, Slack, Discord or Mattermost bridges, and ntfy watchers

Agent Deck weak points

  • No native Windows build; README offers Windows only through WSL
  • Single named maintainer; README asks for 1-2 co-maintainers
  • Very fast release cadence (v1.16.34, several releases in the last week), and the README flags a recent change to the new-session key behaviour
  • The README is the only documentation hub seen; the linked project site returned 404, and the Telegram/Slack bridge is optional extra setup
